Publishing
As a self-initiated project, I taught myself how to design a printable magazine from scratch using InDesign and Figma. I also took on the additional challenge of designing the magazine's packaging. Through this experience, I developed a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end magazine design process, including conceptualization, layout design, typography, color theory, and print production. The project allowed me to demonstrate my ability to work independently and produce high-quality deliverables.
Outcomes
By completing this project and creating a printable magazine from scratch using InDesign and Figma, I was able to enhance my design and technical skills. I gained an in-depth understanding of the entire magazine design process, from conceptualization to production. I was also able to develop a cohesive brand identity through package design, which was an excellent opportunity to improve my art direction skills.
Challenges
One of the main challenges was figuring out the most effective layout and design elements for the magazine to ensure that it was visually appealing and easy to read. Additionally, I struggled with finding the right balance between text and visuals to maintain reader engagement without overwhelming them with too much information.
